Alaska Youth Orchestras Winter Concert

We begin with Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture. Night on Bald Mountain by Mussorgsky is a brilliant work filled with exciting rhythms and brilliant orchestral color. We end the concert with Smetana’s Moldau that depicts the mighty river that flows through the Czech Republic, performed in recognition of our recent tour to this part of Europe. In addition, this concert will feature the Anchorage Youth Philharmonic and its new and exciting conductor, William Waag.
