Astronomy Program: Starship Enterprise

Thursday, Jan 10, 2013 7:00p

There’s an effort underway—funded by NASA and the Department of Defense—to achieve interstellar transport by the year 2100. Very recently scientists discovered an Earth-sized planet orbiting Alpha Centauri B, located in our nearest star system. Might we be headed to Alpha Centauri by 2100? What will it take for humans to travel to another star system? Join us as Dr. Andreas Tziolas, a professor in the Physics and Astronomy Department at UAA, answers these questions and more.
