Old reviews

The Anchor Pub reminds me of my experiences in my early 20s [many years ago!] because it courts similarly aged customers. The music isn't always to my taste but my parents didn't like ours, either. If you're looking for a quiet place on a Friday or Saturday night I'd suggest going elsewhere. If you're looking for a "happening" place then you might join the crowd. Note that older reviews may have been correct at the time, but the Anchor Pub staff has improved just about everything during the last year.

DO NOT GO HERE!!

i never write reviews but this place definitely deserves one....This place wasnt bad until a fight broke out and my friends and I were assaulted. By the time the bouncers actually detained the individual and cuffed them we had already been assaulted both inside and outside the club with the security guards present. Not only did we wait 2 hrs for the cops the security guards somehow "lost" the detained person and they escaped the club in hanfdcuffs! The owner/husband was rude and discouraged us from even waiting on the police and told us we would have to wait outside for the cops if they arrived past closing hours...after we were assaulted in his club. This place is NOT safe and NOT military friendly. I will be telling all of my friends to stay away from this place from now on. DO NOT GO HERE.

Lamest Music

The Anchor has a nice floor plan, good people, booze, but the worst music. It was like a sound track playing from when I was in highschool- which was 10 years ago. They apparently do not accept requests either. So if you want to hear Jock Jams- head to the Anchor, if you want to be living and loving 2010... this is NOT the place.

Great Lunch!

Disregard the tales of crispy hair and fake tans during the lunch hour - the Anchor is a wonderful place to eat lunch if you're looking for a quiet place with good food. Great place for large groups and lunch meetings even if you don't call ahead (but suggested).
The salads are huge, the soups hot and delicious, and there's a great selection of sandwiches and burgers. The "Legislator Burger" is Kobe beef with all the trimmings and served with a pint of beer for $14. The fish and chips are popular, and most sandwiches offer a fry-upgrade to sweet-potato fries, side salad or cup of soup.

Meat market

This place is a pool of testosterone. If you're looking to go out and watch meatheads get into fights, this is the place to go. 3 to 1 guy/girl ratio, and while the women may look good from across the bar, up close the cloud of makeup makes breathing tough. If you have alot of pent-up anger, are the worlds biggest Limp Bizkit fan, and aren't too picky about your women, this may be the bar for you.

Crispy Hair and fake tans

If that sounds like your gig then The Anchor is the place for you! Offering a variety of skanky heavily done up waitresses and a tantalizing selection of grizzle on their menu The Anchor is sure to meet and exceed any slack jawed yokels over-the-top idea of an excitingly trashy nightclub experience! Then you can booty dance the night away between overweight Brut smelling military dudes and skanks with sticky lipgloss in their hair to the sounds of three years ago! Come one, Come all keep the true spirit of redneck debauchery alive! I hated this place.
